When Memories Fade
So much is needlessly lost.
There’s a special kind of pain that comes when someone we love is gone. It’s not only the ache of missing them, but the gradual dimming of the colors that once painted them so vividly in our minds.
Initially, we remember everything: their laugh, their favorite song, the way that they told a joke. But as time passes, even the most colorful memories fade. The sound of their voice disappears. The scent of their perfume, the phrases they used, the advice they shared —one by one, the memories disappear into the past.
What is Lost
When a person dies, we lose more than just their physically presence.
We lose their meaningful knowledge, and their way of doing things— how they comforted a child, conquered an obstacle, celebrated a holiday, forgave, learned to do better.
How many times have you heard someone say, “I wish I’d asked them how they made that cake,” or “I wish I’d written down what they said about love,” or simply, “I wish I could remember more—they were such a beautiful person.”
Why a Wisdom Book Matters
When you create your Wisdom Book, you’re not only honoring your own life— you’re leaving a living legacy for those who will come after you. A record of what you did, how you lived, and what mattered.
Long after you’re gone, this record of your wisdom will service to comfort and guide those that come after you.
