Hello!

It’s cold outside and I’m bundled up in an extra large sweater today!

Today our group wrote about the topic of Boundaries—guardrails that keep you safe and sound.

Boundaries are often misunderstood as acts of separation, when in truth they are acts of self-respect. For many women, boundaries were never modeled. We were praised for accommodating.

On a personal note, I accommodated many times in my life—often against my better judgment and sometimes against my values—because that’s what “nice” women were taught to do. We agreed. We kept the peace. We didn’t argue. We didn’t impose our ideas or take up too much space.

Truthfully, I didn’t even know about boundaries until I was a young adult.

It was a liberating day when I realized I could still be kind and have boundaries too.

If you couldn’t make it today, schedule a block of 35 minutes this week, turn on the video and write. You’ll be happy you did!

Next week’s class in Tue Feb 3rd at 9 am PST. Each class is 35 minutes long and we write together in silence for most of it, with our cameras on.

The writing topic will be Self Love in Action.

Stay warm!
